OOTN: Dancing Under Disco Lights

Hello Lovely Spiiirits!

This past Thursday night Triiin & I went out dancing with our friend Kwith. We went to a spot called Footsies that was full of good music & good vibes. Here are a couple shots from the night as well as what I was wearing. I couldn’t take any good outfit shots until after so excuse the deteriorating condition of my chunky braidout, lol.

The Sneaker Wedge: Fab or Fail?

sw

Sooooo sneaker wedges….I’ve been seeing a good bit of these. Not enough to call it a trend just yet, but enough to take note. I’m not quite sure to feel about them just yet but they must be noted. I’ve seen a few cute pairs, usually they are the ones that come in a print or with spikes. Plus I’ve seen a couple of celebs (including Nicole Scherzinger) rockin’ em but I just haven’t quite latched on to the sneaker wedges movement yet. Something makes me think of a more burgoueis version of the “Jordan heel” posted on people’s walls by fake facebook pages. Maybe its because I’m not the biggest sneaker girl, idk, but like I said I can’t make heads or tails of this one yet.

What do you guys think? Fab or Fail?

Mixing Metals

A couple weeks ago, I did a post on Gold vs. Silver. However, you don’t have to choose! You can wear both at “the same d*mn time” *2chains voice*. Let me give you guys a couple of quick tips for how to do it, and pictures for inspiration….Leggoo!!

Tip #1

Buy pieces already mixed…

Why not let the designers do the work for you and buy pieces that already have gold, silver, copper, or whatever your metallic combo choice already pre-mixed?? It takes a lot of the thought process off your back, while ensuring your success as a metal mixing connoisseur!

Tip #2

Use rings to mix it up…

Rings are a simple, no fuss way to mix a variety of metals into one outfit with out looking forced or tacky. Put on three or four of ’em in a variety of metal shades for a look that adds a sprinkle of edge to any outfit.

Tip #3

Layer, layer, layer…

Bangles, necklaces, whatever, layer them up with varying metals! It can give the allusion of a cohesive mixed piece of jewelry and this method allows you to choose what metals you want to mix versus it being dictated for you by an already mixed piece.

Now be inspired by a couple of photographs…

The tips I gave are just a few easy ways to incorporate a little edge in your outfit via metal mixing, however there are many other ways! Ultimately just do what looks and feels right. Trust your fashion instincts!

Until Next Time!
