Today I am doing a sort of hybrid of Menswear Monday & Trendspotting Tuesday by bringing a growingly male-centered trend to the spotlight.
It seems 2013 is the year of the bling for men. More and more, male bling and accessories are becoming more common place in the “swaggy” male’s wardrobe. In full embrace of this trend, the studded hat is starting to rear its head in men’s fashion. Justin Bieber was spotted rocking one the other day.
The Biebs is not the only one. I have seen many men on my Instagram feed, rockin’ their studded hats, as well as a number of other male celebs. It seems as though this is the new way of jazzing up your snapback and taking urban style to another level.
I personally am not against the studded hat for men, though not particularly a fan. Some men are really able to pull them off nicely while others look a little loud and overzealous in their attempts at head-bling style. Again I don’t think they are the worst thing ever and some pull them off quite well, but I have seen some hat designs that take it too far and straight into the lane of gaudiness.
How do you guys feel about bling for men & the studded hat trend in particular? Is it totally FAB? Or a total FAIL?

Hey, hey, hey, its menswear Monday!
And for my men today I’d like to put the spotlight on camouflage.
Camouflage is really hot in the streets right now and with good reason. It looks great! I, personally am more of a fan of army style camouflage but there are lots of different camo styles out right now. You just have to try em out and see which is best for you!
You can find camo in shorts, belts, hats, shirts, bandanas, etc. for the summertime. No matter how you choose to incorporate it, camouflage is definitely something for the fashion-savvy man to embrace.

River Island has some lovely swim gear for men this summer. River Island is a cool clothing company (one that was brought to my attention through their recent work with Rihanna), but they feature lots of cool stuff for men and women. Their swimwear doesn’t come up short, either.
Check out a couple of their cool printed items from their most recent men’s swim collections.
With stylish prints and modern cuts, River Island swimwear is definitely worthy poolside gear for the stylish male.

It’s Menswear Monday BIIITTTCCCHHHESSSSS
*snaps and applause*
lets do it up one time for the men, ya’ll only get one day a week so i’ll do my best to make it SPICY
So a few weeks ago I heard the song Wild for the Night by A$AP Rocky ft Skrillex from his debut album (not mixtape, album) Long.Live.A$AP. Like I’d heard it before in passing but never the whole thing ( you know how that goes)…and that song is PLAYA-5000. I love it! And it has been decided by myself and the bestie to make that one of the cardinal songs of our summer.
Great F’in Song.
But there’s another reason to take note of Wild for the Night and that is the video. A$AP Rocky wore some killer garb for his wild night in the Dominican Republic.
The matching patterned shirt-jacket combo was a smart & cool fashion choice, couple with white shorts to keep the pattern toned down jussssst enough. The fit of the shorts with a little cuff, was a nice style move as well. The gold rimmed circle glasses add another interesting element to the look and the backwards cap and gold chain make it just gangsta enough to be fit for the purple swag king.
A$AP’s music is great, but his style may be something to keep an eye on as well.
. . .
stay tuned men, & every Monday I’ll make ya remember why ya’ll never unfollow this girlie blog!
Hola my lovely people out there! Hope your enjoying this blessed Monday that is before us.
Now I know skinny jeans are not a new trend, for men or women, but there is much commentary on men wearing skinny jeans and I have noticed that my male friends fall on both sides, arguments for and against them. So I thought I’d bring it to you guys.
For my men out there: How do you feel about wearing skinny jeans or other men who do (if you don’t)?
For my ladies: How do you feel about men who wear skinny jeans?
My personal view is that I don’t mind a man wearing skinny jeans as long as he does so in a way that is still manly. My biggest thing is that they aren’t too tight and that they fit your body type. For instance, some of my more stocky men out there may benefit more from straight leg jeans while my men of slimmer build look better in skinnies. And I would prefer skinny jeans or straight leg jeans ANY DAY over those baggy monstrosities that are 10 sizes too big and puckled up with a belt around the waist…or worse, sagging below your buttcheeks.
Just my opinion though…
…and I want you guys opinions.
Let me know how you feel about skinnies on men
Fab or Fail?
Until Next Time, XOXO JAZ’
Hola all, Halloween is drawing near!
And I realized that I had given some options to my ladies as far as costumes they could put together from their closest, use a little DIY to make, or cheaply buy, however I offered no recourse for my guys! I apologize my dears, and I am here to fix the situation.
Here are a couple of last minute ideas for costumes you guys can be that won’t break the bank…
This little man did it best! This costume is easy an inventive. Wear a flannel shirt and some ripped jeans, add a little dirt effect for flair, get a styrofoam cup or cardboard sign and put a funny “will work for…” type statement on it and its one and done. Don’t forget your beard! Which can be drawn on or fake hair fuzzies glued on. Your perrogative!
Just like with the girl version, you can wear regular clothes and bloody-fy them. All you need to do is maybe put in some creepy contacts and add a little undead like makeup and you’re good to go.
Superman! Dun dun dunnnnn!!! Well, not quite…but a much easier way to achieve an even cooler costume. All you need here is a suit and some “nerd glasses” (an easy way to get these is to pop the lenses out of the ones given for 3D movies…perfection). Open up the suit slightly to reveal a shirt with a superman logo on it, just so everyone knows you’re a superhero in disguise. You can easily buy a cheap superman shirt or make your own from a basic tee and an iron on.
Probably one of the easiest to achieve. Especially if you’ve got a nice bod. Boots, pants, suspenders, oiled torso, and a fire hat. One and done.
And there it is! Hopefully I have inspired some good, quick, and easy last minute costume ideas for my men out there. Stay tuned for more men-friendly fashion & advice next week!
Until Next Time
