Now orange is a color that can easily look tacky and loud if done incorrectly. However, it can look great on any skin tone, if you pick the right shade for you.

A Couple Tips on Finding the Correct Shade

Light Skin: Choose a very true-to-orange shade, it’ll pop against your bright skin
Medium Skin: Choose an orange with golden undertones, it’ll accentuate your skin and give it warmth without bronzer
Dark Skin: Choose darker oranges with more brown to brick undertones, it will be less harsh on your tone while giving you the poppy look you desire

For all shades: Always opt for liner whenever possible, its the secret to long-lasting and defined lips in any lipshade. (You can buy a beauty supply lipstick and make it look like a million bucks with liner, Trust Me.) Also if you can’t find your exact shade in the stores, don’t be afraid to mix colors and liners until you do!

The right orange lip gives you a fun look and a warm summer glow. And with these tips & tricks in your arsenal there is no need to fear getting it wrong. Go forth & get funky in orange!

Lipliner: Midnight brown eyebrow pencil
Lipstick: NYC Retro Red

Simply line your lips with the dark brown pencil and then apply the red lipstick. Massage your lips together, rubbing the color around to blend and wa-lah! Perfect winter red lips.

Until next time! XOXO Jaz’.

Trendspotting: Burgundy

Burgundy, Wine, Blood Red, Oxblood, its all the same and its all trending right NOW.

Burgundy is a huge trend for fall and will continue to be a mainstay for fashionistas all throughout the winter. This is not really the newest of new developments, I’ve been meaning to blog about it for quite some time but I kept getting sidetracked from the topic for some reason (oopsie me!). However, it is still just as relevant. I don’t see burgundy leaving the fashion scene for quite some times, especially during these colder months.

Check out celebs like Kim Kardashian & Nicole Kidman sporting the trend!

Incorporate a little burgundy via lipstick or nail polish, or a lot of it with a cool top or dress. I usually like to wear burgundy lipstick to add a little punch to any outfit. However you choose to rock this rich color, it’ll be hot hot, hot!

What do you guys think of the burgundy trend?

Hair of the Week

Hola guys I’m here with another post for all my hair lovers out there. So as I’ve said before, I’m natural and my hair is verrrryyyy thick. For this reason, and the fact that my schedule is way to busy to do anything otherwise, I don’t like to fuss with my hair everyday. I usually do one style for the week and my hair will stay that way (or some variation of it all week). This week it was a twist-out. I did my hair in about 16-20 twists, put them in a ponytail overnight and took them down in the morning. They were still a little damp which allowed for more shrinkage and less definition, but I still liked the results.

Here are a few pictures of how it looked when I first took down the twists (disclaimer: I would NEVER wear it like this, just wanted to show you all what it looked like before I manipulated it)

Looks crazy right now right? I know, but here’s the finished product….
