The Goddess Body products that were sent into our home by the lovely Angela Elizabeth were the CAS Toning Balm & the Yoni Oil.

CAS Toning Balm: The CAS Toning Balm is a blend that clears and smooths skin, targeting cellulite, fatty deposits. The CAS in name stands for Coffee, Aloe, & Shea. The topical caffeine from the coffee widens blood vessels, improving circulation and the removal of toxins, fluid, and fat. Aloe is renown for its amazing skin moisturizing, tightening, and regenerative properties. Vitamin A & E dense shea butter is a superb moisturizer with healing properties for skin and hair. So knowing that these are the 3 main ingredients, you already know that this concoction is primed for greatness…and it did not disappoint! The product is packaged into a glass container. You get a pretty sizable amount of product, especially when you take into account the consistency which is thick but spreads easily (and doesn’t take a lot of product to cover a pretty good amount of space). The balm smells delicious giving the wearer a light citrus scent. Due to all the natural oils, the balm is oily on your skin if over applied, so be careful (but like I said you don’t need too much). Immediately after application, my skin felt soft and supple and remained that way throughout the entire day. After no more than a week of using this product daily, I noticed an increased natural sheen and glow to my skin. This amplified natural sheen and glow remained even on days when I skipped using the product. Though I don’t have a ton of marks and blemishes, I did notice the marks I do have begin to substantially lighten to blend more and more with my skin. I absolutely love this balm!

Yoni Oil: Yoni is the Sanskrit word for Divine Passage, Vagina, Womb, Sacred Temple…you get the picture. It’s our blessed and sacred lady bits, Goddesses, and yoni oil is a prime holistic asset for keeping the precious vagina working to Goddess-standard. Yoni oil contains a combination of oils such as tea tree oil and neem oil as well as delicious herbs lemongrass and sage. These oils and herbs (as well as the numerous others present in the blend) combine to create the perfect potion for feminine yoni health. The oil has the capability to restore balance, acting as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal antidote. The combo also strengthens and tones the vaginal walls while encouraging healthy lubrication as well. It also can be used as a healthy natural lube, itself. With daily application, I observed a notable increase in the lubrication and strength of my own yoni since beginning to use this oil back in May. I feel that the increase in vaginal strength has caused my menstrual cycle to complete more quickly (since I can expel more at once). The oil, as well as healthy eating practices, has also decreased to the number of painful days in my cycle to one. Lastly it has a delicious lemongrass-y scent and can be effectively used on, not only your yoni, but your skin & hair as well. I haven’t actually tried the oil on my hair yet, but the anti-bacterial properties work wonderfully on skin (especially when a pimple surfaces up! It’ll get rid of that sucker in a flash). Triiin has pretty sensitive face skin when it comes to which products she can use and she swears by this oil for her face! This is definitely a new staple product in our lives.

These worked out so phenomenally, I can’t wait to try more Goddess Body products! I’d definitely recommend the CAS Toning Balm and the Yoni Oil to any woman ready to channel her inner Goddess! (Plus the holistic products are universally good for skin and hair, so men you can use them too!)

Vegetarian Delights: Stuffed Portobello Mushroom Burger & Sides

Greetings Lovely Spiiirits

Sending good vibes to every single one of you…right…NOW!

As you all may know, in my household, we are pescetarians moving toward vegetarianism. Therefore, it is not uncommon that we will have completely vegetarian meals. On last Tuesday night, Triiin & I used teamwork to make a lovely meatless meal that I’d love to share with you guys! We made a delicious Stuffed Portobello Mushroom Burger with Fried Jalapenos & Bean n Cheese topped French Fries. And lemme tell ya, it was to die for!

Ingredients:

2 Portobello Mushrooms, Fresh Spinach, 1 Tomato, Fresh Garlic, 1 Onion, 3 Potatoes, 2 Fresh Jalapenos, Beans (any kind), 4 slices Whole Wheat Bread, Pepper Jack Cheese, Vegetable Oil, Butter, Garlic Salt, Parsley, Garlic Powder, Yellow Mustard, Flour, Cornmeal

Steps to Deliciousness:

1st we marinated the mushrooms in flavor. We coated it with a light layer of oil and seasoned it with garlic salt, parsley, mustard, and garlic powder. We let them sit and gain flavor for 30 minutes while we did other prep.

After this 30 minute period was over, we placed the mushrooms gill side up to prepare them for stuffing. You can gut the gills out of the mushroom if you want, but I think that’s a straight up waste of mushroom “meat”, personally! I’d only remove the inside if I was going to stuff the mushroom with more & heftier ingredients than the ones we chose for this recipe. We cut up the tomato and the onion as well as some fresh garlic and began stuffing the mushrooms with it. We also took some fresh spinach from the bag (how many leaves, I’m not sure) and stuffed the mushrooms with them as well. Once the ‘shrooms appeared to have a good amount of stuffing, we used a couple spinach leaves to seal in the stuffing, laying them over and tucking in the corners. After this, we placed them in a small metal pan with a couple tablespoons of oil (2-3) to ensure they didn’t stick. We covered the pan and placed the mushrooms in the oven on 350 degrees, for 20 – 25 minutes.

For the fries, we took the 3 potatoes and cut them into fry-shaped slices. They were coated with mustard (as a flavoring and sticking agent), Tony Chacheres, garlic powder, & garlic salt. Then we placed them into a mixture of cornmeal & flour, being sure to get a good coating on each. The method for the fried jalapenos is quite similar. We cut them into ring shapes, flavored them with mustard, garlic powder, and garlic salt, and coated them effectively in the flour/cornmeal mixture. (Make sure to remove the seeds from the jalapenos to the best of your ability to avoid a spicy bum later, lol.) We heated up a pot of oil on medium to high heat and “deep fried”, so to speak, the fries and the jalapenos until they begin to float to the top & had the color we wanted. Then we removed them and put them in a strainer lined with napkins, to remove excess grease.

Using butter, oil, parsley, and garlic powder, we made the toast  for the ‘shroom burgers in a skillet. We heated up the ingredients and flip flopped the toast in the pan until it was around the color and firmness that we wanted. Simple. Then we grated the pepperjack cheese onto the bread and spread barbecue and balsamic mayo onto them. We placed the stuffed mushrooms onto their perspective breads, closed the top of the sandwich and voila!

After the fries were done, (though already quite delicious), there was still a tiny bit more work to do to prepare them to be the perfectly topped side for this dish. We heated up some leftover beans we happened to still have from dinner another day. (These were beans made from scratch, but never fear! You can use a can as well, for similar quick & easy results). We heated them on medium heat via the stovetop (we don’t even own a microwave, actually), and were careful to keep watch over them as to ensure they didn’t dry out in the reheating process. Once the beans were heated to a good temperature, we spread them evenly over the fries and grated some good ‘ol pepperjack cheese on top.

Le’ Results

Hair of the Week: Mini Twists

Image

Greeting lovelies! A more appropriate name for this post might be Hair of the Weeks. Sunday I spent hours upon hours styling my hair into mini twists. The style, though time consuming, is a great protective style for natural hair and it is meant to last a long time. Perfection for my busy schedule! So its been a couple days already, but I plan on keeping this style for another 2-3 weeks. I only used Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In, the basic two strand twisting method, and LOTS of patience to achieve this style. Its my first time doing the twists this small and I like them thus far. I like the way they coil up at the ends. The shrinkage with this hairstyle is crazy! My twist are literally more than twice the length they appear when I stretch one. I may stretch the twists out over time using braids or ponytails and see how they look that way. But I’m not too, too obsessive over length appearance.Anyways, enough of me being a Chatty Cathy! Here are a couple more pics where you can see the twists a little more clearly.

What do you guys think about this hairstyle? Love it? Hate it? Let me know!

Until Next Time!
