TheFashionerrd’s Very Own : Free Spiiirit Clothing Co.

FreeSpiritFinal

Free Spiiirit Clothing Co. was began by two women, myself (Jasmine A. Brown) and Philichell Pewitt-Hemphill. Here is our story….

Once upon a time I wanted a clothing line. Most of my life I knew I wanted to be involved in fashion in some sort of way, but I also wanted to help people. Around April of 2012, I decided I was going to go for it. I didn’t know exactly how it was going to happen or what the line would embody but I knew it was going to happen. Philichell and I began to get closer as friends over this time and I began to notice that she was a wondrous creative mind, with skills in crafts and DIY. I asked her to come on board and help me with the project. Time passes and Philichell comes upon this video series called TheSpiritScience on YouTube. She passed it along to me to watch as well. Watching this series changed our lives for the better and we began to adopt many of the ideologies that were purposed in the videos. Once enlightened, we wanted to enlighten others as much as possible. “Other people need to know about this stuff!” we said. And we began to think of ways we could spread the message. It came to us, to combine the clothing line and our newfound lifestyle as a way to express ourselves and enlighten the masses. Thus, we formed an equal partnership and Free Spiiirit was formed.

As with any business, teamwork makes the dream work and we needed a team to keep pushing this dream forward. We very carefully selected the best, brightest, most talented and fashionable people in our area. In support of the idea our friends decided to come together with us to form a team…the Free Spiiirit Tribe. We honed their specific talents to fit in the places that would benefit our growth most. Together….we will bring up the world, one vibration at a time.

2012 Fashion Recap: My Top 5 Most Enjoyed 2012 Trends

Hello my dears, I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season…a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!

Can’t know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been, right? So it’s only right that we recap the best trends of 2012. 2012 was full of great fashion and well, I’m no authority, but these are my top 5 favorite trends of 2012!

AZTEC

Aztec was big during the spring and summer months of 2012, the print was funky, fresh, and inspiring!

006

FLOWY SKIRTS

I very much enjoyed wearing flowy skirts all throughout the year of 2012. They are so relaxed and easily chic, can’t help but love ’em!

BURGUNDY

So complementary to every skin tone. Its the perfect Fall/Winter color and it was all the rage in the Fall/Winter 2012 season. Between makeup and clothes, I know I wore this one OUT, y’all!

STILETTO NAILS

Nail shape was big during 2012, specifically the stiletto nail. I didn’t really like the super exaggerated pointy ones, but the rounded slightly more natural looking stiletto nail was feminine perfection if you ask me.

STATEMENT NECKLACES & COLLARS

Looking to add instant jazz to any outfit? A statement necklace or collar will easily do the trick. That was definitely a trick I used frequently in 2012.

What were your favorite trends of 2012? What do you plan on trying out in 2013?

OOTD: The Calm Before the Storm

You know the idea, right before something ghastly happens the world is beautiful and bright and reassuring of the beauty that will once be returned to you after all the pestilence is over….

That was Saturday…

It had its downs don”t get me wrong. [insert personal problems here]. But I have to be thankful for all the good things that the day was. It was a beautiful, sunshine-y, perfect weather day. Not too hot, not too cold…just right. I had a delicious breakfast and dinner. I got to see my family who I love, I got see my sister do a wonderful winter performance with her dance company, and I got to spend the entire with my spirit twin Philichell ^_^.

Not to mention, I spent not a drop of time that day working on anything for finals…HALL-EL-UJAH.

Victoria Secret Fashion Show Style Recap

Hola Blog Dolls! I’ve missed you!

I’ve been so swamped with work, school work, personal struggles, the whole 9…plus its the end of the semester so you know what that means. Finals and cramming.

But through it all I’m here to make a little time for you guys…thats how much I love ya! *muah*

Last night I watch the annual Victoria Secret Fashion Show on CBS and its was, as usual, a pleasure to the eyes. Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Bruno Mars took the stage as the night’s performers, while numerous “angels”, such as Adriana Lima and Miranda Kerr, ripped the runway in fun and exquisite VS Fashions. Rihanna even gave us a little modeling herself, Tyra Banks style.

If you missed the show, here are a couple of photographic highlights below…

There were many, many more looks and fabulous moments, too much for one blog post to hold! However, I hope this post gave you an idea of the VS luxury that graced the runway last night.

What was your favorite look of the night? How did you like the performers style choices?

Until Next Time…

Trendspotting: Burgundy

Burgundy, Wine, Blood Red, Oxblood, its all the same and its all trending right NOW.

Burgundy is a huge trend for fall and will continue to be a mainstay for fashionistas all throughout the winter. This is not really the newest of new developments, I’ve been meaning to blog about it for quite some time but I kept getting sidetracked from the topic for some reason (oopsie me!). However, it is still just as relevant. I don’t see burgundy leaving the fashion scene for quite some times, especially during these colder months.

Check out celebs like Kim Kardashian & Nicole Kidman sporting the trend!

Incorporate a little burgundy via lipstick or nail polish, or a lot of it with a cool top or dress. I usually like to wear burgundy lipstick to add a little punch to any outfit. However you choose to rock this rich color, it’ll be hot hot, hot!

What do you guys think of the burgundy trend?

OOTD: Mustard Green Dream

Hola my lovelies!

I’m here with a serving of mustard green for ya! No…not the veggie, but the suede shirt I wore yesterday. With the temperature dropping, this material was perfect for keeping me warm and chic. Also, the color of the top combines two of Fall’s hot colors…mustard and green !

(s/o to my candid, one time) lol

Menswear Mondays: Skinny Jeans Fab or Fail?

Hola my lovely people out there! Hope your enjoying this blessed Monday that is before us.

Now I know skinny jeans are not a new trend, for men or women, but there is much commentary on men wearing skinny jeans and I have noticed that my male friends fall on both sides, arguments for and against them. So I thought I’d bring it to you guys.

For my men out there: How do you feel about wearing skinny jeans or other men who do (if you don’t)?

For my ladies: How do you feel about men who wear skinny jeans?

My personal view is that I don’t mind a man wearing skinny jeans as long as he does so in a way that is still manly. My biggest thing is that they aren’t too tight and that they fit your body type. For instance, some of my more stocky men out there may benefit more from straight leg jeans while my men of slimmer build look better in skinnies. And I would prefer skinny jeans or straight leg jeans ANY DAY over those baggy monstrosities that are 10 sizes too big and puckled up with a belt around the waist…or worse, sagging below your buttcheeks.

Just my opinion though…

…and I want you guys opinions.

Let me know how you feel about skinnies on men

Fab or Fail?

Until Next Time, XOXO JAZ’
