The Goddess Body products that were sent into our home by the lovely Angela Elizabeth were the CAS Toning Balm & the Yoni Oil.

CAS Toning Balm: The CAS Toning Balm is a blend that clears and smooths skin, targeting cellulite, fatty deposits. The CAS in name stands for Coffee, Aloe, & Shea. The topical caffeine from the coffee widens blood vessels, improving circulation and the removal of toxins, fluid, and fat. Aloe is renown for its amazing skin moisturizing, tightening, and regenerative properties. Vitamin A & E dense shea butter is a superb moisturizer with healing properties for skin and hair. So knowing that these are the 3 main ingredients, you already know that this concoction is primed for greatness…and it did not disappoint! The product is packaged into a glass container. You get a pretty sizable amount of product, especially when you take into account the consistency which is thick but spreads easily (and doesn’t take a lot of product to cover a pretty good amount of space). The balm smells delicious giving the wearer a light citrus scent. Due to all the natural oils, the balm is oily on your skin if over applied, so be careful (but like I said you don’t need too much). Immediately after application, my skin felt soft and supple and remained that way throughout the entire day. After no more than a week of using this product daily, I noticed an increased natural sheen and glow to my skin. This amplified natural sheen and glow remained even on days when I skipped using the product. Though I don’t have a ton of marks and blemishes, I did notice the marks I do have begin to substantially lighten to blend more and more with my skin. I absolutely love this balm!

Yoni Oil: Yoni is the Sanskrit word for Divine Passage, Vagina, Womb, Sacred Temple…you get the picture. It’s our blessed and sacred lady bits, Goddesses, and yoni oil is a prime holistic asset for keeping the precious vagina working to Goddess-standard. Yoni oil contains a combination of oils such as tea tree oil and neem oil as well as delicious herbs lemongrass and sage. These oils and herbs (as well as the numerous others present in the blend) combine to create the perfect potion for feminine yoni health. The oil has the capability to restore balance, acting as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal antidote. The combo also strengthens and tones the vaginal walls while encouraging healthy lubrication as well. It also can be used as a healthy natural lube, itself. With daily application, I observed a notable increase in the lubrication and strength of my own yoni since beginning to use this oil back in May. I feel that the increase in vaginal strength has caused my menstrual cycle to complete more quickly (since I can expel more at once). The oil, as well as healthy eating practices, has also decreased to the number of painful days in my cycle to one. Lastly it has a delicious lemongrass-y scent and can be effectively used on, not only your yoni, but your skin & hair as well. I haven’t actually tried the oil on my hair yet, but the anti-bacterial properties work wonderfully on skin (especially when a pimple surfaces up! It’ll get rid of that sucker in a flash). Triiin has pretty sensitive face skin when it comes to which products she can use and she swears by this oil for her face! This is definitely a new staple product in our lives.

These worked out so phenomenally, I can’t wait to try more Goddess Body products! I’d definitely recommend the CAS Toning Balm and the Yoni Oil to any woman ready to channel her inner Goddess! (Plus the holistic products are universally good for skin and hair, so men you can use them too!)

Spiritual Sundays: How to Meditate (5 Easy Steps)

Greetings & Happy Sunday, Spiiirits!

meditationblogAT

Meditation is a vital component for self-awareness and spiritual growth. The practice of meditation brings with it not only spiritual benefits, but mental and physical benefits as well. After educating myself on meditation and its many benefits, as well as beginning to experience some of the benefits myself, I believe meditation should be practiced by every human being on the planet, daily, in some shape or form. This would be beneficial, not only for each individual, but for all mankind collectively.

Many stray away from meditating because they don’t have a complete idea of what it is or how to do it. And we can all agree that Mother Culture has taught us to fear what we do not know/understand. But meditation should not be something we remain in the dark about any longer. And it should be something everyone knows how to do.

Feeling as such, I have decided to compile a basic how-to guide to meditation. Nothing too stressful, a couple of quick steps…so easy a caveman could do it! 😀

Step 1 – Find Your Meditation Location. Find a private spot where you feel safe and comfortable. The spot should be quiet and free from external distractions. This can range from a bedroom, a bathroom, a closet, a spot in your backyard, etc. just anywhere where you can create a comfortable, quiet, uninterrupted moment for yourself.

Step 2 – Get Comfortable. Once you have secured your meditation location, find a spot and get comfy. You may sit in a chair or on the floor. You may also lie down, though it is easier to accidentally fall asleep this way. Just choose the position that is most comfortable for you. But be sure that, no matter how you choose to sit, you keep your posture upright as to properly facilitate the flow of energy. Make sure to clear the exact spot where you plan to meditate of any clutter. Many people use crystals to amplify their meditative sessions. If you have crystals or some other object pertaining to the meditation, it is fine to keep those near you. Also, if you become uncomfortable at any later point in the meditation you can mildly maneuver. However, for best results, movement should be kept to a minimum.

Step 3 – Decide the Time Frame. Once you begin the act of meditating, it is easy for time to pass without you being aware how much of it has gone by. While some may just let the meditation lead them and just get up whenever they feel “done”, this may not be the  best move for a beginner. You also don’t want to find yourself inclined to think about time at all during the act of meditation, as this may just make you figity, and bring stress that draws attention away from your meditation. The best way to avoid this is to predetermine a time limit. This can be done by setting a timer or alarm. 30 minutes is a good amount of time to meditate, though you should feel free to do more or less. Guided meditations are another good way to decide the time frame of your meditation, but more on that later.

Step 4- Breathe & Observe. Close your eyes.  Now its time to get into the groove of actual meditation. Take deep breaths, fully inhaling and fully exhaling. Now begin to clear your mind. You can do this by focusing on your breaths or by counting to 100 in your mind as you continue to breathe. Thoughts will come during this time, but it is your job not to engage with any of these thoughts. You are to separate yourself from the thoughts, simply becoming a passive observer of them. It is important in this moment not to classify the thoughts that come as good or bad, or really respond to the thought in anyway. Don’t delve into the thought, don’t analyze it. Simply observe the thought as it passes and then send it away.

Step 5 – |END| Return to the Physical Realm. The alarm (or whatever timer you have put in place) sounds, signaling that the time has come to draw your meditation to a close. DO NOT just bounce up hurriedly. Slowly ease into the physical state of being. Start off by mentally becoming aware, again, of where you are physically. Next become aware of your physical body. Wiggle your toes, yawn, stretch. Then slowly open your eyes and re-accustom to your surroundings. It is important to do this because shifting modes too rapidly can be discombobulating. However this whole process need not take longer than one minute. Now you can get up, move about, and carry on with your day! Some people, alternatively, choose to remain in their spot and reflect upon the meditation or send silent gratitude into the Universe. This is perfectly fine as well. Go with how you feel! (which after a meditation, is usually GRRREEEAAAATTTT! 😉 )

***Quick Tip***- I mentioned guided meditations in step 3. Guided meditations are a great tool for beginners! (and pros, alike, if you ask me). They are perfect for giving those who have trouble clearing their mind, on their own, something to focus on. There are also guided meditations that cater to specific areas (such as balance, prosperity, healing, etc.). And with guided meditations ranging from as short as 10 minutes to as long as 2 hours, they can be perfect for deciding the time frame for how long you want to meditate, as well as what aspects of your being you are primarily want to focus on in each session.

Hope these tips prove helpful to you guys. Happy Meditating, Spiiirits!

OOTD: Independent Soul

“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.” – Charlotte Brontë

Hello Spiiirits! I hope you had a marvelous 4th of July/4th of July Weekend. Though I’m not big on the America-centric holiday, I know I did. Nothing like a little celebration with friends &/or family to kick off the month right? Speaking of kicking off the month can you believe we have now entered the 7th month of 2014???  Summer is in full swing and we are more than halfway through the year! Crazy. But I couldn’t be more thankful.

At any rate, I wanted to share my 4th of July outfit with you lovely spiiirits!  Triiin & I were invited by our lovely friends Ash & Kwith to enjoy some backyard chillin’ & grillin’. We had the most delicious grilled veggies and grilled seafood (salmon, lobster, & shrimp to boot!). And the night was topped with a wicked fireworks show from an amazing view. Great day 🙂

Crotchet Top: Thrifted, Burgundy Bandeau: Shasa, Skirt: F21, Scarf (for turban): Walmart, Pinstripe Sneakers: Target, Choker: Bombay Fashions, Pyramid Studs: F21, Crossbody Bag: A street vendor we call “Rasta Man” :), Mixed Metal Bracelet: Glitter, Rings (Snake Ring, Coral “crystal ball” Ring, & Earth Tone Oil Paint Ring): Gift + Beauty Supply, Cat-Eye Sunglasses: Santee Alley

The daytime was HOTTTTTTTTT, so I aimed to wear an outfit that could handle the heat, while being stylish & comfortable. No matter how hot in the day, LA tends to cool off substantially at night, so I brought along a yellow cardigan to keep me warm when it got cool out.

As you can see by some of the pictures, Triiin’s outfit was fab & killin’ it, also! If you want details to Triiin’s outfit, just let me know in the comments below! Also…we sell cute custom crops like the one she is wearing at FreeSpiiirit. Email for inquiries.
