Twenty One : The Birthday Post

As many of you may know, I just made 21 this past weekend. I am still reeling with excitement from all the festivities! ^_^ . On Friday I got my nails and toes done and went to dinner with my family. On Saturday (my actual b-day), I had an early dinner with my family and got to see a couple friends who came from out of town to visit me for the occasion. When I got home my lovely roommate had hung streamers from my door and had a bottle waiting for me. Later that night, my lovely and very awesome friends surprised me with a surprise party for my birthday!!! It was a glow-in-the-dark/blacklight party and it was sooooo much fun!! I also received many gifts with include but are not limited to, bottles of wine and liquor, the Hunger Games DVD, and my very own blacklight!!!!!! The next day my friends and I hung out and went on an excursion to a little place called Dago’s and shared quite the bonding experience. I just want to share my bday experience with you all as only photos can so….here goes!

Birthday Nails !

Hello my lovelies, I know it’s been a minute since the last time I blogged, but I’ve been uber busy (so bear with me). But guess what today is guys???? My birthday!!!! I am making 21 today and I am excited about it!!! I got my nails done and I wanted to share them with you all. I bought the pink color in a hair store for $1.18 and its called Pastel Pink. It looks like more of a “barbie pink” in my opinion, though. The ring finger color is Champagne (fitting for 21, ehh?) and I have a gold glitter with light pink hearts coating the Champagne nail. I chose a mix between a natural and stiletto shape, because I didn’t want my nails too pointy (no witch nails here!). The same pink color is on my toes. I thourougly enjoyed my super deluxe mani/pedi and I personally lovveee how my nails and toes turned out. Pictures are below, tell me what you guys think! 🙂

P.S. : There will be other birthday related post to show you guys my hair and my various birthday looks (there will be a few, SO STAY TUNED!!)

Until Next Time!

Mixing Metals

A couple weeks ago, I did a post on Gold vs. Silver. However, you don’t have to choose! You can wear both at “the same d*mn time” *2chains voice*. Let me give you guys a couple of quick tips for how to do it, and pictures for inspiration….Leggoo!!

Tip #1

Buy pieces already mixed…

Why not let the designers do the work for you and buy pieces that already have gold, silver, copper, or whatever your metallic combo choice already pre-mixed?? It takes a lot of the thought process off your back, while ensuring your success as a metal mixing connoisseur!

Tip #2

Use rings to mix it up…

Rings are a simple, no fuss way to mix a variety of metals into one outfit with out looking forced or tacky. Put on three or four of ’em in a variety of metal shades for a look that adds a sprinkle of edge to any outfit.

Tip #3

Layer, layer, layer…

Bangles, necklaces, whatever, layer them up with varying metals! It can give the allusion of a cohesive mixed piece of jewelry and this method allows you to choose what metals you want to mix versus it being dictated for you by an already mixed piece.

Now be inspired by a couple of photographs…

The tips I gave are just a few easy ways to incorporate a little edge in your outfit via metal mixing, however there are many other ways! Ultimately just do what looks and feels right. Trust your fashion instincts!
